Caitriona Balfe is a famous actress and model. She was born on 4th October 1979 in Dublin, Ireland. You probably know her from her role as Claire Fraser in Outlander. She grew up in the village of Tydavnet, in a family of seven and while she was studying Theatre at the Conservatory of Music and Drama, she also started some modeling. At that time she was 19 years old, when an agent spoted her while she was collcting money at a mall for a charity. 

In the beginning she worked as a model in her country, but soon she was offered the chance to work as a fashion model in Paris. Since then, she took part in several shows for Moschino, Chanel and Givenchy. After some years, she moved in New York city, where she took part in the film 'The Devil Wears Prada' (2006), where she took a small role of an employee of the Runway magazing. 

In December 2014, 'Entertainemnt Weekly' named her one of tis 12 Breakout Stars for the year (2014) and was also voted as the 'Women of the Year' in 2014. One year later she received Best Actress in a Lead Role Drama.Today, she lives in Glasgow, after spending some years of her life in New York, Paris, London, Tokyo and in Los Angeles, the place where she started acting professionally.
