Many people would've heard about Mary Pandian but have you wondered how did she start her journey?
She was born on 24th August,1980 and became one of the famous reality TV stars of America. Mary was a student of the University of Texas at Austin (UT). She graduated with a photojournalism degree in 2003 and got a job. She interned at D Magazine. Later, she got the job of an Assistant Editor for Architectural Digest. So, she had to move to New York City.
She is special because she can turn junk into pieces of art which is not that anyone can do. There she made her own section at ArchitecturalDigest.com called as "Mary's Finds Video Blog". This Blog displayed her unique collection. Mary returned to Texas after the retirement of her mentor from Architectural Digest in 2010 as she felt homesick.
However, in a year's time she opened a store in Dallas. The name was kept same as “Mary's Finds”. Moe Prigoff who bought many products at auction houses and was a frequent visitor of her store, offered some of those products. Her qualities were observed by him and he took her to the auctions from where he bought various products.
He was a part of the show Storage Wars: Texas. Impressed by her skills, he introduced her to the show. Her first appearance was alongside Moe, in the first season of the show. After gaining popularity she became a main cast member of the second season of the show. Her talent took her to heights and she appeared on the original Storage Wars series.
She has the keen eye and the creativity to find treasure from the thrash. Using this skill she turned most of the salvaged items into sell-able artwork. With time she became more confident and started to buy items without teaming up with anyone else.
She is now at a very good position and has proved herself as a very good businesswoman and still is very patient and observant to identify diamonds in a coal mine.
